Dr. Stephanie Irby Coard
Dr. Stephanie Irby Coard is an Associate Professor in the Department of Human Development and Family Studies at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNC-G) where she primarily conducts research on racial, ethnic and cultural influences on child mental health treatment and prevention; and cultural adaptations of interventions and community dissemination. She is also the Director of the African American Strengths and Strategies Lab.
Dr. Coard earned Bachelor’s degrees in both Psychology and Business from North Carolina State University; a Master’s degree in Human Development from the University of Pennsylvania and a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Columbia University. Dr. Coard has received extensive clinical training in Departments of Psychology, Psychiatry and Pediatrics and specifically in parent training.
